Collaboration agreement with the University of Oslo

Bio-Me and the University of Oslo, Department of Biosciences, Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Synthesis (CEES) have entered into a collaboration agreement for Proof-of-Concept studies of Bio-Me’s proprietary GutCheck™ technology. Under the agreement, Bio-Me will have access to facilities and personnel at CEES to conduct a series of experiments to demonstrate the power of the GutCheck™ technology.

GutCheck™ is based on a novel technology that allows rapid and accurate analysis of the composition of the bacteria in the gut microbiome down to genus and species level. The test will allow large numbers of fecal samples to be processed in a single day.

“We are excited about the opportunity to have access to lab space and resources close to our offices,” comments Morten Isaksen, CEO of Bio-Me. He continues, “In addition, the high level of experience and well-equipped laboratories will be important for Bio-Me in carrying out the planned work.”

This collaboration has come about due to a grant from the Research Council of Norway (RCN), and is an important stepping stone for developing the core technology of Bio-Me.
